Re:                  FlexPlan Contributions
Date:               February 18, 2009

As you may know Section 14.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between KDTV and NABET calls for the Employer to make a monthly contribution to the Entertainment Industry Flex Plan for Regular Part-Time and Freelance employees.  That contribution was to be withheld from the 20% employees receive in lieu of benefits since February of 2008.

The Company made an error when they failed to withhold any contributions for the Plan. The Union has now resolved the grievance by the Company agreeing to pay all of the contributions from July 1, 2008 to November 30, 2008.  As you know, you have seen deductions of $1.76 from the 20% premium in December, increasing to $1.85 for each hour worked in 2009.

The Company has promised to send the first contributions to the Flex Plan next week.  Once the Plan receives the information they will forward each employee a full enrolment health benefit package where you may select your health insurance from.

In addition, these contributions are to be before-tax withholdings.  The Company however did not do this for December and January and will be making that correction in the next payroll check.

This benefit has been a long time coming but I am sure you will find it to be a true benefit to you and your family.  You can get a preview of the health benefits available on their website:
